Students who want to take Driver
Education must pick up a Driver Education Application and Verification
of Attendance Compliance from the school and then make an appointment
with Minidoka County Sheriff’s Office to purchase a Driver Education
permit. STUDENTS MUST PURCHASE THEIR DRIVER ED. PERMITS PRIOR TO THE
FIRST MORNING OF CLASS OR ENROLLMENT IN THE CLASS WILL NOT BE
PERMITTED. Dates to make an appointment at the Minidoka County
Sheriff’s Office to purchase a Driver Education permit will be as
follows:
FIRST TRIMESTER Course usually starts last week of August
SECOND TRIMESTER September 10 – November 14, 2002
Driver Education class starts Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at 7:00 a.m. |
THIRD TRIMESTER December 17 – February 20, 2003
Driver Education class starts Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at 7:00
a.m. |
SUMMER SESSION March 18 – May 15, 2003
Driver Education class starts Monday, May 19, 2003 at 7:00 a.m. |
A $75.00 Driver Education school registration fee must be paid to the
school secretary at the school where the student attends prior to the
first day of class. EACH STUDENT MUST BRING THE $75.00 RECEIPT TO THE
TEACHER ON THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS OR ENROLLMENT IN THE CLASS WILL NOT
BE PERMITTED.
Driver Education students need to bring the following to the Sheriff’s
Office when they purchase their permits. |
- Driver Education Application filled out.
- Verification of Attendance Compliance signed by the school
principal.
- Original State Certified Birth Certificate or Passport.
- Picture ID. Example: School Annual, Idaho ID card or Activity Card.
- Social Security Card.
- One parent with the same last name. If there is a last name
difference, parent must have a marriage license, Divorce Decree’s or
any legal document linking all the last names together.
- Sheriff’s Office does a visual test. If lenses are required, please
wear them.
- $33.50 non-refundable fee. Permit is not valid after one year from
purchase date.
- Foreign exchange students need to contact the Sheriff’s Office
at 434-2327 for additional requirements
