Concealed Weapons License

A concealed weapons permit allows you to carry a weapon in public in a concealed manner. as of July 1, 2016, Idaho Statute (18-3302) states that a resident who is 21 years of age and not disqualified from having a permit, can carry a concealed weapon statewide without obtaining a permit.

There are two different types of concealed permits that the state offers: Basic Concealed Permit and Enhanced Concealed Permit. The only difference between the two is that the Enhanced Concealed covers 7 more states than the Basic Concealed.
Requirements:
Basic Concealed Permit (one of the following):
  • Basic Handgun Safety course or Hunter's Education Certificate
  • DD-214 (military discharge forms) or retired Military ID Card
Enhanced Concealed Permit
  • 8 hour course (4 hours in the classroom and 4 hours on the Range)

Fees:
  • Initial Application/Fingerprint Fee: $53.25
  • Renewal Fee (Basic Concealed only): $35
  • Permit Photo (once approved): $2.85
