Water on the Road Enforcement

Water On Road

Water on the roadway can be very dangerous to the motoring public and can erode the roadways causing severe damage and cost to the county tax payers. Effective immediately, the Minidoka County Sheriff’s Office will be taking enforcement action on the water on the road. As instructed by the Minidoka County Commissioners and the Minidoka Highway District we will be enforcing the water on the road that is put there by any person having control of irrigation water who shall cause, suffer, or allow any such water to spray, sprinkle, or otherwise flow upon the traveled portion of any public highway, road or street in the any manner other than with weather conditions. This person shall be guilty of an infraction for the first (1st) offense and shall be guilty of a misdemeanor for any subsequent violations in the same calendar year. The Minidoka County Sheriff’s Office request the cooperation of the farming community as well as residents in helping us keep the roads safe and in good order. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Minidoka County Commissioners or Minidoka County Sheriff’s Office. Attached is a copy of the Idaho Code for Water on the Roadway.
