Mission, Vision & Values

The men and women of the Minidoka County Sheriff's Office are highly dedicated and well-trained professionals who are strongly committed to maintaining a safe community. We set our priorities based upon input from the people we serve, and therefore our first priority is the protection of life. We strongly enforce our traffic laws and we focus on crimes against the person, particularly violent crimes. Because of this, individuals must take a greater responsibility to ensure their own property is protected. We offer training and assistance to members of our community such as businesses and landlords to improve crime prevention on every front.

Mission

The Minidoka County Sheriff's Office deputies are proactive in their fight against crime and strive to promote community-oriented policing by developing effective partnerships, identifying root causes of crime and implementing outcome-based solutions which will reduce crime and increase safety. Our mission is to fight crime and for that to be effective, we need to engage the community and work together to develop new and innovative ways to make Minidoka County one of the safest communities in the nation. Regardless of our current lack of resources, when the community members and the police unite together, there is always a positive outcome.

Drug Crimes

Currently drugs, and more specifically Methamphetamine, generate the majority of crimes committed in Minidoka County. Meth is one of the most widely abused controlled substances in Idaho and currently is the most personally and environmentally dangerous drug problem in our state. The Sheriff's Office is involved in an effort to combat this destructive and pervasive drug along with business and community leaders in our area. The need to educate the public and raise awareness of this growing epidemic has never been greater. It is important that we all stand strong against this social blight that has the capacity to destroy so much more than just the addict's life.

Community

We are proud of our community and the officers who work so hard to help make Minidoka County an enjoyable and safe place to live. Our goal is to reduce the fear of crime, protect individual rights, and enhance the quality of life for all the people of Minidoka County I encourage you to get involved and be a part of our community efforts.

Sincerely,
Sheriff Eric Snarr
